Publisher review:Link Backgrounds script allows you to change links background by using CSS code. Based on questions developers have asked lately, it seems that offering in-line external link backgrounds is challenging, especially getting them to work and look right with Internet Explorer 6.
It would probably be best to use embedded inline images with the appropriate alternate text. This could be done two ways: The alt text could say [External Link], in brackets or parenthesis as shown, or an arrow could be used, →, . If using an arrow, though, it’d be necessary to add a key on the page to explain what it means.
The script can be easily installed and integrated onto your own website.
